Meet Your New Assistant: How to Run Your Nomad Stays Listing by Just Chatting With AI

Originally published on Nomad Stays.

Picture this: it’s 9pm, you’ve just taken on three new guests this week, and you realise your room descriptions still mention a “cozy shared kitchen” that got knocked through and turned into a proper co-working lounge two months ago.

Normally, fixing that means logging in, finding the right admin screen, hunting for the right field, and hoping you don’t fat-finger something else while you’re in there. What if instead you could just say:

“Hey, can you update our listing to say the shared kitchen is now a co-working lounge with 6 desks and fast WiFi?”

…and it was just done.

That’s genuinely what this is.

Manage Your Nomad Stays Listing with Your AI Agent

Nomad Stays now lets you connect an AI assistant — like Claude — straight to your partner account, so you can manage almost your whole listing by having a normal conversation with it, the same way you’d text a very capable assistant who happens to have full access to your Nomad Stays admin panel.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could manage all your listings on all platforms with your AI Agent?
Sadly, many platforms are preventing this.  Instead continuing to insist that you learn their UI and log in all the time to update.

Nomad Stays allows ALL its Trusted Stay Partners to use AI agents.

It applies whether you run a coliving space, hostel, guesthouse, BnB, serviced apartment, villa or cabin set, hotel, resort, FarmStay, spa & wellness retreat, or basically anything else in our “Other” catch-all category — it’s not just for one type of property. Every one of these listing types is managed through the same set of AI tools, so everything in this article applies no matter which kind of Stay you run.

I’ll cover, in order:

  1. What this actually is and why it’s worth your time
  2. How to connect your AI assistant in the first place (the setup step)
  3. Which AI assistant to use — and which ones need a paid plan
  4. A big tour of the things you can actually ask it to do, with real examples
  5. How the security works — plain English, no jargon
  6. How to apply for a brand-new Stay (or coworking space, or experience) listing the same conversational way

1. What Is This, Really?

Behind the scenes, we’ve built a set of “tools” into Nomad Stays that an AI assistant is allowed to use on your behalf — things like “update this listing’s description,” “check room availability,” “upload a photo,” “create a new pricing package.”

Nothing more, nothing less. The assistant can’t wander off and do something you didn’t ask for — it can only reach for the specific tools we’ve built, and each one maps to something you could otherwise only do by logging into the admin site yourself.

The difference is that instead of you learning where every button lives in our Dashboard panels, you just describe what you want in normal language, and the assistant figures out which tool to use. It’s less “learning software” and more “having a conversation with someone who already knows the software inside out.”

Logging on is hard.  AI Agents are easy!

This matters more than it sounds like at first. Most partners don’t update their listings often — not because they don’t care, but because logging in and finding the right screen takes real time out of a busy day running a property. Listings that stay fresh — accurate descriptions, current photos, up-to-date pricing — consistently get more attention than listings partners haven’t touched in months. If updating takes 20 seconds instead of 20 minutes, you’ll actually do it.

(One quick note before we go further: there’s a few things you still need to run from your Nomad Stays dashboard. Your highly private information is not available for viewing or editing with an agent, and running the “WiFi Tests” needs to be done from an actual machine connected to the actual internet connection at your Stay — an AI assistant obviously can’t run a speed test from your router for you. But once that test is done and logged, you can absolutely ask your assistant things like “when did we last run a WiFi test, and what did it show?” or “is our WiFi test overdue?”)

2. Setting Up Your AI Assistant (Connecting It to Your Stay Account)

This is a one-time setup step, and it’s genuinely simple. Here’s what it looks like:

Step 1 — Open your AI assistant’s connector settings.
If you’re using Claude, then you need to ‘connect’ Claude to the Nomad Stays AI server (known as an MCP Server). You make this connection inside Claude under Settings → Connectors (sometimes called “Integrations” or “Apps” depending on where you’re using it — the Claude desktop app, the web app, or a mobile app all have a version of this).

If you’re using ChatGPT you’ll need a paid account to be able to access connectors.

Step 2 — Add Nomad Stays as a connector.
You’ll search for or paste in the Nomad Stays connector, https://mcp.nomadstays.com/mcp, and choose “Connect” or “Add.”

Step 3 — Log in and authorize it.
You’ll be sent to a normal Nomad Stays login screen — the same login you already use for your account. Log in with your usual email and password.

Step 4 — Confirm with your two-factor code.
If you haven’t already got 2FA (two-factor authentication) set up on your account, you’ll be asked to set it up here — we explain exactly what this is and why it exists in Section 5 below, so don’t worry if that sounds unfamiliar.

Step 5 — Approve what the assistant can access.
You’ll see a consent screen listing what the assistant is asking permission to do (for example: view and manage your Stay listings, view bookings, manage applications). Review it and approve it.

Step 6 — Start chatting.
That’s it. From this point on, in any new conversation with your AI assistant, you can just start talking about your Nomad Stays listing and it will know what you mean — no need to repeat any setup steps.

If you ever want to disconnect it, you can revoke access at any time from your Nomad Stays account settings or from your AI assistant’s connector settings — either side can cut the connection instantly.

A couple of practical notes:

  • You only need to do this setup once per device/app you use — if you also use Claude on your phone, you may need to connect it there too, the same way you’d log into a new app on a new device.
  • You can reconnect at any time if you ever disconnect it, using the same steps.
  • Nothing about your Nomad Stays login changes because of this — you’re not creating a new account, you’re just giving your existing account a new “front door” that your AI assistant can knock on.

3. Which AI Assistant Should I Use?

Quick honest answer: any assistant that supports something called “MCP” (that’s the technology behind these connectors — you don’t need to remember the name, just know it’s the thing to look for). Not every AI assistant lets you add outside connectors like Nomad Stays for free, though. Here’s the plain-English breakdown, so you don’t waste time hunting for a “Connect” button that’s hidden behind a paywall.

Free to connect Nomad Stays (no paid plan needed):

  • Claude Desktop App (Mac, Windows, or Linux) — fully free to connect, on any account.
  • Cursor and Windsurf (popular coding tools, in case you or someone on your team already uses one) — free tiers support connectors too.
  • Continue.dev, LibreChat, Open-WebUI, and Zed — these are free, open-source tools mostly used by more technical folks, but worth knowing they support this too if that’s your setup.

Needs a paid subscription to connect Nomad Stays:

  • ChatGPT (OpenAI) — you’ll need ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, or Edu. The free version of ChatGPT doesn’t currently allow custom connectors like this.
  • Claude.ai web app — the free web version doesn’t support this kind of connector; you’d need Claude Pro, Team, or Enterprise, or use the free Claude Desktop App instead (see above).
  • Perplexity — needs Perplexity Pro, Max, or Enterprise.
  • Microsoft Copilot — needs Copilot Pro or a Microsoft 365 Enterprise licence.

Our practical recommendation: if you don’t already have a paid AI subscription, the easiest and completely free way to get started is downloading the Claude Desktop App. It costs nothing, works on Mac, Windows, or Linux, and supports everything described in this article out of the box.

4. What You Can Actually Ask It To Do

This is the fun part. Below is a genuinely broad tour of the kinds of things partners can now do just by asking. Try reading these out loud — this is exactly the kind of sentence you’d type.

Getting a quick overview of your listing

  • “Give me a summary of my Stay listing — what’s live right now?”
Your assistant pulls your full listing (description, address, organisational details) and gives you a plain-English rundown, rather than you having to click through five different admin tabs to piece it together yourself.
  • “Where am I at with onboarding? What’s left to finish?”
If you’re mid-way through setting up, it’ll tell you exactly what’s outstanding — no guessing.
  • “List every room we have, with their current details.”
Useful for a quick sanity check before a busy season, or before you brief new staff.
  • “Who are the listed contacts for our property, and can you check the phone number is right?”
Good for catching stale contact info after staff changes.
  • “What amenities and facilities are we currently listing?”
A fast way to check nothing important (like “wheelchair accessible” or “on-site laundry”) has been missed.

Editing your listing’s story and details

  • “Rewrite our description — we’ve added a rooftop coworking deck and want that front and centre.”
The assistant drafts new copy and, once you’re happy, saves it straight to your live listing.
  • “Change our check-in time to 3pm, and add a line about our free airport pickup.”
Small factual changes like this used to mean digging through forms — now it’s one line.
  • “Update our organisational details — we’ve changed our registered business name.”
Keeps the “behind the scenes” business information accurate, not just the guest-facing copy.
  • “Add ‘pet friendly’ and ‘rooftop pool’ to our amenities list, and remove ‘no smoking area’ since we’ve closed that space.”
Multiple small edits, handled in one message instead of several admin page visits.

Rooms — of every kind, for every property type

Whether you run an apartment building with a handful of self-contained units, a hostel with dorm beds, a villa with multiple private rooms, or a hotel with dozens of room categories, room management works the same way:

  • “Add a new room called ‘Garden Studio’ — sleeps 2, private bathroom, air conditioning.”
  • “Create a new dorm room type called ‘6-Bed Mixed Dorm’ for the hostel.”
  • “We’ve knocked through two apartments into one bigger unit — can you delete ‘Apartment 4B’ and create ‘Penthouse Suite’ instead, sleeps 4?”
  • “Update the Garden Studio to say it now has a kitchenette.”
  • “What amenities does our Deluxe Villa Room currently have listed?”

Photos

  • “Upload these three new photos of our renovated pool deck.”
  • “List the photos in our gallery so I can tell you which one to remove.”
Your assistant can’t actually look at your photos to spot a blurry one or recognise “the lobby shot” on its own — it works from file names, not what’s in the picture. So it’ll show you the list (e.g. 1.jpg, 2.jpg, pool-deck.jpg), and you just point to the one you mean.
  • “Delete 3.jpg, that’s the old reception photo we don’t want anymore.”
  • “Put pool-deck.jpg first — it’s our best shot and should be what guests see first.”

A tidy, current photo gallery is one of the single biggest factors in whether a guest clicks through to book — and this makes keeping it fresh nearly effortless, even if you’re the one doing the “which photo is which” part.

Pricing and packages

  • “Show me every pricing package we currently have live.”
  • “Create a new monthly package for our private rooms — €650, minimum stay 28 nights.”
  • “Bump our weekly package price up to €280, cost of living’s gone up.”
  • “Delete the old ‘Winter Special’ package, that offer’s finished.”
  • “Check availability for the Garden Studio across all of October before I promise a guest a date by email.”
  • “Find me the nearest available date for a 2-week stay in our Deluxe Room, starting from November 1st.”

Business profile

  • “Pull up our current business profile so I can double-check everything’s accurate.”
  • “Update our business profile — our VAT number has changed and we’re now a registered business entity.”

(One thing your assistant can’t do for you: change your Stay’s underlying business/room-management model — for example switching from a standard rental setup to a hybrid coworking-plus-stay setup. That’s a bigger structural change than a profile edit, and on purpose it still needs a real Nomad Stays admin to action it — just ask your assistant to point you to your account contact if you need that kind of change.)

Getting help without leaving the chat

  • “Search the Help Center — how do cancellation policies actually work for our type of listing?”
  • “What are our options for cancellation policy, and which one suits a hostel best?”

Instead of switching tabs to search our Help Center yourself, your assistant can search it and summarise the answer right there in your conversation.

5. How the Security Works (Plain English, No Jargon)

Because your AI assistant can make real changes to your live listing — pricing, availability, your business details — we protect the connection the same way a bank protects online banking: with two-factor authentication, or 2FA.

Here’s exactly what that means, with no jargon:

  1. Something you know — your normal email and password.
  2. Something you have — a one-time code, generated by an authenticator app on your phone (or sent to you), that changes every time.

To connect an AI assistant to your account, you need both.

The reason this matters: if someone ever got hold of just your password (which happens more often than people think, through data breaches on completely unrelated websites), 2FA is what stops them cold. Without the second code — which only exists on your phone — they can’t get in, and they definitely can’t connect an AI assistant to start changing your prices or business details.

What happens after you’ve connected it once?

You won’t be asked for your 2FA code again every single time you chat with your assistant. Once you’re connected, your assistant’s access quietly renews itself automatically behind the scenes roughly once an hour, for as long as the connection stays active — you don’t notice this happening and you don’t need to do anything for it. Think of it like a security guard checking a pass every hour rather than asking for your ID at every single door.

Does it ever expire on its own?

Not automatically based on time passing or inactivity. The connection stays active until you (or an admin) choose to disconnect it — from either your Nomad Stays account settings or your AI assistant’s own connector settings. If you ever sell the property, change staff, or just want to be cautious, you can revoke access instantly and it’s immediately cut off, no waiting period.

The bottom line: 2FA means proving it’s really you with two separate things, not one — and it’s the single strongest, simplest protection there is against someone else getting into your listing.

6. Applying for a New Listing — Also Just By Chatting

If you’ve got a new Stay to list, or you’re brand new to Nomad Stays entirely, you don’t need to sit down and fill out a long web form either. Applications work conversationally too:

  • “I’d like to apply to list a new Stay — it’s a small guesthouse.”
Your assistant kicks off a new application and asks you the key questions it needs: property name, location, stay type (apartment, villa, hostel, whatever fits), business model, and so on.
  • “Save what I’ve got so far, I need to grab some paperwork before I finish the rest.”
Applications don’t need to be finished in one sitting — your progress saves and you can pick up right where you left off, any time.
  • “Show me my application as it stands so far.”
A quick read-through before you commit to submitting.
  • “Everything looks right — go ahead and submit my application.”
Sends it off to our team for review.

The exact same conversational flow works for coworking space applications and experience listings (tours, activities, local experiences) too, if that’s more your kind of offering.

Every application is reviewed by a real person on our team before anything goes live, so applying doesn’t mean an instant listing appears overnight — but it does mean the applying part takes minutes of conversation instead of an hour of form-filling.

Ready to Give It a Try?

If you’re an existing Nomad Stays partner, head to your AI assistant’s connector settings and add Nomad Stays as a connector (Section 2 above walks through it step by step). Within a few minutes you’ll be able to check your bookings, tidy up your photos, adjust a price, or update your listing’s description — all without touching the admin panel at all. (Just remember: WiFi speed tests themselves still happen on your dashboard’s “Test WiFi” page, run from your actual property connection.) And if you’re thinking about listing with us for the first time, just tell your assistant you’d like to apply, and it’ll take it from there.
